Civil Ceremonies arrive in Ireland following their continued growth in the UK

Testimony to their value and success is clear with public demand and popularity on the increase with over 100% growth year on year in the number of ceremonies conducted.

Anne Barber, MD of Civil Ceremonies Ltd, the organisation behind the launch in Ireland says, “The ceremonies have received a warm welcome and we are very excited and confident that the ceremonies will provide a much needed service, allowing families and couples to celebrate, mark and remember a point in time that is very special to them”.

The ceremonies now available in Dublin are: Naming Ceremonies, Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremonies and Commitment Ceremonies

The Naming Ceremony is a non-restrictive ceremony where families, whatever their circumstances, can celebrate the birth of a child, or arrange a ceremony for older children. It is an opportunity for parents or legal guardians to announce the names chosen and make lasting commitments alongside supporting adults in a formal and dignified environment.

The Naming Ceremony also provides an opportunity to celebrate the joining of families within an extended family unit, particularly helpful to families welcoming adopted children and stepchildren.

The child or children can be of any age and any parent or legal guardian can arrange a Naming Ceremony, whether married or not, from any cultural background, with any spiritual or religious belief or with non.

Taking a stand against the increasing divorce rate, the Renewal of Marriage Vows is a much welcome and refreshing change, the ceremony offers married couples the opportunity to renew their marriage vows and celebrate their married years together in a non-restrictive and personal ceremony. Couples can celebrate their marriage whatever their circumstances, they can be of any age and married for any length of time.

As well as the popular anniversary celebrations, the Renewal of Marriage Vows ceremony has proven especially valuable for couples who have married abroad and would like to share their celebration and restate their vows in front of family and friends on home ground. It also provides a ceremony at a hotel or similar venue that can be attended by unlimited numbers of guests following a civil marriage.

As the name suggests, the Commitment Ceremony is an opportunity for a couple, of any gender, to make promises to one another and pledge their
Commitment to one another. This very special occasion is a public
declaration of a couple’s love and dedication to one another which can be shared with family and friends or the ceremony can be held in private without guests if the couple prefer.

Just as every life celebration is unique, every ceremony is unique.
Families and couples can personalise their celebration by selecting words, poems and readings from the comprehensive range on offer and to commemorate the ceremony, a souvenir certificate is presented to the family or couple.

Ceremonies are secular and do not contain religious references and are available to all, regardless of cultural background and personal circumstances. The venue, number of guests and involvement of other guests in the actual ceremony are also options that can be chosen, creating, in all, a very meaningful, dignified and personal experience.

Professional Celebrants conduct the ceremony and are on hand to guide the family or couple through the process of creating their special day and are available to offer advice and discus ideas and requirements prior to the ceremony.

Ceremonies cost â‚ ¬200 and are held at a venue of the family’s or couple’s choice (cost excludes the venue).
